At The Pegasus School, we work together to fulfill the words of the School’s founder, Dr. Laura Hathaway, whose vision was “to create an educational environment that values intelligence, creativity, and respect for others."

Together, parents and teachers provide experiences for Pegasus students to collectively build our community into one of intellectual challenge and caring support. Students will have the opportunity to succeed and fail on a daily basis, taking life lessons from both events.

Building and sustaining this special community takes the cooperation and trust of all constituents—parents, faculty, staff, administration and trustees —and thus, the values of our community need documentation in a way that will provide guidance and support to our work.

This Parent-Student Handbook articulates the expectations of the School and families that comprise the Pegasus Community. Items herein range from the practical, like the  School’s hours, to the philosophical, like the Mission and Community Values. Collectively, the intent is to have a resource for all members of our community, and we believe this to be a dynamic document. Please read it carefully and know that your input is valued. While we believe in the policies and procedures set forth in this document, living them often causes the need for clarity and adjustment. I will carefully review comments, questions and suggestions to determine future changes.

My best to you in the new school year at The Pegasus School!
